This is something I often say. Especially at this time of year. I said it today, to myself, out loud. When this misses saw this she laughed at me. I love this light.
I did this drawing a while ago, probably 4 years ago! (woah), back in my photoshop days, before I discovered the magic that is Illustrator. I think for anyone of my generation in Folkestone this place brings back some pretty cool memories. Just seeing it brought so much excitement as a kid, and right on our little door step- Oh how times have changed. Its drawn by night because when I was a kid going to a fun fair at night seemed even more fantastical.
So, going from knowing pretty much everything to pretty much nothing just like that is a challenge! And who doesn't love a challenge right????
Today was the first day back in the real world since little Bo came along. I have been so busy today that I made todays picture from a collection of others.. Its hard to concentrate on anything else at the moment!
A big thank you to every single person that has enquired or aided in some way during our (yes our) pregnancy and since the beautiful Bo entered our world. Whether you sent well wishes, brought presents, sent cards, made us food, gave us stuff, visited us, left us alone, washed mugs or just liked a Facebook photo, THANK YOU. You do not know who much we have appreciated the support from you all.
You have made what is an amazing time, that even more special. You know who you are. Before you all get carried away, this is not me announcing an engagement. Instead it is a piece of work that I have been busy with over the past few weeks. It is drawn from a photograph I took back in July 2012 at a friends beautiful wedding in Germany. It depicts a bride and her groom as they enter the world for the first time as husband and wife. Arhhh..
Little Bo peep has lost her sheep, And doesn't know where to find them.
Leave them alone and they'll come home, Bringing their tails behind them. Little Bo peep fell fast asleep And dreamt she heard them bleating, But when she awoke, she found it a joke, For they were all still fleeting. Then up she took her little crook Determined for to find them. She found them indeed, but it made her heart bleed, For they left their tails behind them. It happened one day, as Bo peep did stray Into a meadow hard by, There she espied their tails side by side All hung on a tree to dry. She heaved a sigh, and wiped her eye, And over the hillocks went rambling, And tried what she could, As a shepherdess should, To tack again each to its lambkin. Just a little something I heard on Meridian News a while ago.... Local people are so funny. You could be erecting a money tree and local people would find a way to complain and form a protest group. Crappy banners and a few tee-shirts does not make a protest!
So here it is. Day 100. So much has changed since Day 1. This says it all really. I'm happy the first 100 are now done. Here's to the next 265!!!
